HOE JUJITSU STUDIO柔術
TRADITIONAL JAPANESE MARTIAL ART
ABOUT
Jujutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art. The two Japanese characters "Ju (柔)" and "Jutsu (術)" can be translated as pliable/flexible and techniques/martial art respectively.

Jujutsu originated in Japanese Samurai schools where warriors were taught combat methods, including various weapons arts. Jujutsu techniques were usually taught as a subsidiary method and included strikes, joint locks, strangulations and throwing techniques for use in "emergency situation", if the Samurai was unarmed.
Hoe Jujitsu Studio was founded in 1956 by recognised Grand Master Professor Kam Hock Hoe (1903-1990). Professor Kam graduated from Kyoto International Ju-Jitsu Society Headquarters in 1933. The Kyoto headquarters was one of the most famous ju-jitsu schools in Japan prior to World war 2.
The art continues to be taught today by one of Professor Kam's students, Leong Chock Lim sensei and Leong sensei's student Michael Lui Sensei.
